Built to TAS & ADA
In Texas, permanent room signs in public and commercial buildings are checked against the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), which follow the 2010 ADA Standards. A sign that looks right but has the wrong character height, Braille or mounting height can hold up a final inspection or a certificate of occupancy.
Signs by G builds every ADA sign to those rules from the start: raised characters, Grade 2 Braille, non-glare finishes and strong contrast, mounted where the code says they go.

FAQ
Both point to the same requirements. Texas enforces the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), which are based on the 2010 ADA Standards, so we build to that shared set of rules for character height, Braille, contrast and mounting.
Signs that identify permanent rooms and spaces, such as room numbers, restrooms, exits and stairwells. Directional and informational signs generally don’t need Braille but still need readable text and contrast. We’ll mark up your door schedule and tell you which is which.
The baseline of the lowest Braille cell is at least 48" above the floor and the baseline of the highest raised character is no more than 60". The sign goes on the latch side of the door. Our installers mount every sign to those heights.
Yes. We can use your colors, fonts for non-tactile text, and materials such as acrylic, aluminum or engraved panels, as long as the tactile text, Braille and contrast stay compliant.
